Latouche Transportation driver app (iPhone) · Effective October 26, 2026
Who we are
Latouche Transportation LLC (MC# MC67924482) is a hotshot trucking company in Chandler, Indiana (USDOT #6354035). This policy covers the Latouche Transportation app for iPhone. It's an internal tool for our drivers and dispatch staff, not an app for the public.
Questions or requests: call or text 812-766-1974.
What we collect and why
- Account info. Your account is set up by our admin. It includes a username, your name, and your role (driver or admin). Your password is handled by our login provider (Supabase Auth). We never see or store it in plain text. We use this to sign you in and show you only your own work.
- Clock in / clock out times. We record when each shift starts and ends so we can work out hours and pay.
- Loads and stops. These are the loads assigned to you: load number, customer, shipper and broker, rate, trailer, notes, pickup and delivery addresses, appointment times, arrival and departure times, and odometer readings. We use them for dispatch and billing.
- Precise location (GPS). See the next section.
- Mileage. Miles per load and miles driven in each state. These are worked out from the GPS points and odometer readings. We use them for billing and IFTA fuel-tax reports.
- Photos. These are bills of lading (BOL), proof of delivery (POD) and receipts that you take with the camera or choose from your photo library. The app only gets the photos you pick. It does not browse your library.
- Fuel and expenses. Category, amount, gallons, price per gallon, state, odometer, vendor, notes, and receipt photos. We use these for reimbursement, bookkeeping and fuel-tax reporting.
We do not collect contacts, messages, health data, or advertising IDs. We also don't track you across other apps or websites.
Location, and when it's on
- Location tracking starts when you clock in and stops when you clock out. The app asks for location permission when you clock in. You can't clock in without it.
- While you're clocked in, the app keeps recording the truck's location even when the app is in the background or the screen is off. That way the route and miles stay accurate. iPhone shows the blue location indicator while this is running.
- Each location point includes latitude and longitude, accuracy, speed, heading, time, the load you're on, and the U.S. state you're in. To figure out the state, your phone sends the location to Apple's location service, which returns the address details.
- We use location for the live truck map that dispatch sees, for miles per load and per state (IFTA), and for confirming pickups and deliveries.
- If you open the app while a shift is still open, tracking picks up again until you clock out. Once you're clocked out, no location is collected.
- You can turn off location at any time in iPhone Settings. However, location is needed to clock in and to record miles.
How it's stored and protected
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and file-storage provider. It's sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your sign-in session is kept in the iPhone's secure storage. Access rules on the database let each driver see only their own shifts, location, photos and expenses. Company admins can see everyone's records. Photos are kept in a private storage area, not on public links. If you're offline, location points are briefly saved on your phone and uploaded when you're back online.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising. We only share it:
- With service providers who run the app for us. Supabase hosts the data and sign-in. Expo/EAS delivers app updates. Apple provides the location address lookups. Inside the admin live map, OpenStreetMap provides the map images and unpkg provides the map code. The map service receives the map area being viewed, not your account.
- With customers, shippers and brokers when they need it for a load, such as proof of delivery, BOLs, or delivery times.
- When the law requires it. This includes government agencies, tax (IFTA) or DOT audits, insurance claims, or to protect our rights and safety.
How long we keep it
We keep work records (shifts, loads, mileage, photos, expenses) for as long as we need them to run the business and meet tax, DOT and insurance recordkeeping rules. That's usually several years. When an account is deleted, its shifts, location points, photo records and expenses are deleted with it, and we remove the photo files from storage. Load records the company needs for billing are kept, but your name is removed from them.
Your choices and deleting your data
- You can see your own hours, loads and entries in the app.
- To ask for a copy, a correction, or deletion of your data, or to have your account deleted, call or text 812-766-1974. We can deactivate or delete your account and delete the data tied to it, including your photos. We may keep some records if the law requires it.
- You can stop location tracking by clocking out, or by turning off location for the app in iPhone Settings.
Children
This app is for our employees and contract drivers only. It's not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are big, we'll also let drivers know directly.
